New Hampshire may not be known for high temperatures, but we are known for our humidity. Generally living way out in the country we stay relatively cool, despite a lack of Air Conditioning. On hot nights I go to bed with wet hair and blast the fans and don’t suffer too much.
I’ve never been a warm weather person. This is part of why I chose to go to school in Boston instead of looking at Texas and Miami. I get it from my parents who keep their house delightfully air conditioned. But the days we need air conditioning here are few and far between so we don’t think it’s a valuable investment.
I wish the pond across the street wasn’t full of goose poop.
The heat and the mugginess don’t make me very productive. Never mind the fact that I have to sort through 500 pictures from our adventures this weekend. So I leave you with a picture I took of Mount Lafayette on Saturday.
Mount Lafayette was the very first actual mountain I hiked way back in 2001 when I was a freshman in college. We did it as a team bonding exercise for rowing. It took me a few years to get back to the White Mountains, but when I did I took them by storm. I spent the summer of 2004 hiking almost every weekend.
And it’s a good thing too, I met my husband on a crazy hiking trip a year later.
Thank you Lafayette, for introducing me to hiking and for having views that made me want to go back for more.

I love the new design for your blog. Did you write the CSS yourself?
I am a fan of Lafayette too. I am also not a fan of the humidity. It was definitely a rough couple of days here in NH.
I am also another person who cannot deal with humidity. Being hot is worse enough but heat + humidity = kaput Bean.

No, it’s one of the themes on WordPress.com. I needed a wider space. Most of the layouts cut out part of my pictures. I plan on making my own layout soon. I just need to slow down and take the times to do it…. Once I catch up on my photo editing.
